The Coalition provides free programs to interested groups on a wide selection of topics. We have provided programs for a variety of groups, including companies, congregations, human service agencies, civic groups, book clubs, etc.
Presentations typically include a few short video clips, followed by discussion and Q&A. We offer a variety of formats to suit the needs of the participants. Below is a list of the programs currently being offered.

LET'S GET MOVING FOR BETTER HEALTH! Retired physician, Dr. Rob Fawcett, will share information on the many health benefits of exercise and physical activity. Dr. Fawcett’s open and lively approach is both motivational and inspiring. The program will include viewing the recently produced video featuring local health professionals. Participants will have the opportunity to have their fitness questions answered. Health experts agree that older adults should be active every day to maintain their health. Fortunately, there are many ways to be physically active. Learn about the ways you can be active that suit your lifestyle, interests, health, and budget. Consider these benefits:
YORK COUNTY WALKS: Taking steps toward better health!
Most doctors agree that walking is an excellent way to stay healthy. Walking is great for both mental and physical health. The Healthy York Coalition’s YORK COUNTY WALKS initiative is working to promote walking and improve the walkability of York County. This program begins with the motivational video, The Walking Revolution, followed by a discussion with a physician. Participants are encouraged to consider ways to walk more, and how to get others to join in. (Time: 30-60 minutes)
ADVANCE CARE PLANNING: "What if . . . "
If you were ill or injured and unable to speak, who would know what kind of care you would want. It is important to discuss your choices before a health crisis. Learn what you need to know to reduce confusion and stress, by making sure your wishes are known in advance. This event will include a few short videos, followed by a discussion of end of life decisions. The presenter(s) will share insights and offer the opportunity for questions and answers. All participants will receive a packet that includes Advance Directive forms and other helpful information. (Time: 45-90 minutes)
