About Us

Overview

The Healthy York Coalition was established in 1994, bringing together stakeholders from across the community to discuss common health goals and collaborative opportunities. For more than two decades Coalition volunteers have worked to advocate for policy change, establish programs and services, and produce and distribute educational materials. The Coalition's work is driven by a strategic framework of goals anchored by three key tenants: assessment, collaboration and mobilization.

  1. ASSESSMENT - Assess and prioritize health needs and coalition priorities
Goal #1: Annually review available data to determine local health needs
Goal #2: Formalize the process for priority identification and implementation
  2. COLLABORATION - Convene and facilitate collaborative approaches to achieve impact
Goal #3: Strengthen participation of diverse partners
Goal #4: Implement strategies to maximize impact
Goal #5: Develop and implement guidelines to manage projects and guide the scope of work
  3. MOBILIZATION - Increase visibility and support by strengthening communication and formalizing structure
Goal #6: Increase community awareness and engagement
Goal #7: Formalize coalition structure, succession plan and fiscal sustainability

Vision: Working together to champion a healthier York County.
